The Space Between

I am human, therefore I should belong in this world. However, due to  distorted perspectives, brought about by autistic spectrum disorders, I often find it confusing and disorientating. I feel like I inhabit the space between functioning as part of society and being trapped in a parallel universe, where people operate in a very different way to me.

The photographs in this collection feature empty spaces, showing evidence of human activity but physically devoid of it. It is in this space where I can comfortably observe the world from a safe distance, free from the toils of interaction. At the same time, they depict my world; organised yet shy of social contact, almost post-apocalyptic.
