Forgotten Places
I have always found abandoned places fascinating. It is another opportunity to delve beneath the skin of humanity whilst being secure in the knowledge that any human activity in these spaces has long ceased.
Many people find it sad that these once thriving and cared for buildings are now decaying, however, for me, it echoes humanities wasteful attitudes and lack of longevity. As soon as something better and more enticing comes along we neglect the now obsolete entity.
Everything in this world is a shell and it is our human imprints that give objects purpose. Whilst our imprints connect us to the history of these carcasses, the reality is, as soon as we relinquish our hold on a structure, these imprints begin to fade. Soon nature will reclaim the land and any human connections will be lost.
